From 1st to 3rd of October 2019 partner TUAS and partner SLAB attended the International Common Criteria Conference in Singapore. The event was a huge success in terms of dissemination and potential exploitation. In addition to that important input for the finalization of some project deliverables was received.

TUAS and SLAB presented at the conference 2 outcomes of the VESSEDIA project:

  • The SCL security evaluation scheme
  • The Verified in Europe conformity assessment scheme

The presentation was attended by around 60 international experts from the CC community. There were some interesting questions that pointed to current efforts in the CC system to integrate formal methods. Due to the fact that the CC community prefers to integrate all new requirements under the umbrella of CC, some discussions about Verified in Europe came up. We could integrate the comments from the CC community in our work, so that we can promote the Verified in Europe conformity assessment scheme (ViE CAS) as a value-adding complementary scheme which is not competing against the existing CC and the other lightweight schemes in many countries. We concluded with CC community members (although more from the evaluation labs than the national CC representative bodies) that the ViE CAS delivers an interesting set of requirements that supports the routine work of security evaluation labs.
